As the lives of many blood cancer and blood disorder patients can be saved by receiving blood stem cells from a matching donor, Delete Blood Cancer UK works to increase the number of people registered as potential donors with the aim that nobody dies because they can’t find a matching donor.
The charity does this by raising awareness of the blood stem cell registry and how people can potentially save a life by joining it. It works with patients who are searching for matching blood stem cell donors and their families by supporting their appeals and recruitment events. It also runs events with communities, schools, and companies throughout the UK to encourage and enable people to join the registry.
You can register and request a cheek swab kit that will enable you to join the registry through the Delete Blood Cancer UK website – www.deletebloodcancer.org.uk
