In the run up…
A team of volunteers was trained on Monday 12th and is now doing a great job and swabbing at local businesses as part of the blood cancer Awareness Week. Saturday is the busiest time for many on the High Street and we’d like to make sure that all those who what to save someone’s life are given the chance to do so during this week. Please get in touch if your business would like to be a part of it.
On the BIG day …STILL NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS!
The event will be split across two adjacent school halls. One will be used for the registration of new donors and another for family fun and fundraising activities.
We are looking for volunteers to help on the day in two ways:
|To man Registration desks||To help in the Fundraising hall|
|One of two halls at the school will be used only for registering new potential donors. All volunteers in this hall will be sent a SHORT guide a week before the event and will be given a pre-event training on the day by a Delete Blood Cancer UK representative, who will also be available on throughout the day to answer any questions you may have. As the event will run from 10.00-16.00, we would be grateful if volunteers are at school by 9.00am for training at 9.15 and help to wrap up until about 16.30. If you are unable to commit to the whole day, then please consider volunteering for either
||We are planning to have a variety of activities for all ages and are currently in early stages of planning. If you would like to volunteer, even for an hour, please email us. As we make progress planning the event, we will post updates on this page and email to all who expressed interest with work-streams, time slots and number of volunteers required.|
All volunteers on the day are covered by DBCUK Public Liability insurance
